2020-2021 Oz Gallery Exhibition Proposal

GUIDELINES:

Please read the following guidelines. Incomplete applications are not accepted. Emailed applications are not accepted. Please use this online form.

  • Must be 18 or older to apply.
  • Open to artists in Colorado.
  • Collaborative, group and solo shows are welcome.
  • Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis.
  • Artists are notified on a rolling basis.
  • Due to the expected amount of proposals, if you are not selected you will not be notified.
  • This is free for artists. There are no fees involved in application or exhibition.
  • Artist(s) must give an artist talk or demo as part of the proposal.
  • Proposals should show unique and thoughtful consideration of themes, media and audience and space. Proposals that demonstrate an "outside the box" gallery exhibition will be given priority.
  • All media are welcome and encouraged. But, the works must not interfere with the classes that occur in the space.
  • Censorship and subject matter: Oz Gallery is a city of Thornton community space. Artwork should reflect careful consideration of community equity and respect.
  • The Oz Gallery is a commission-free venue.
  • Staff does not conduct sales on behalf of artists – all sales are between buyer and artist. All sales transactions must occur after the show comes down.
  • Artist(s) are responsible for any display hardware or furniture needed, if different than hardware provided.
  • If selected we will make every effort to accommodate first choice exhibition dates. But, you may be asked to use your second choice.
  • It is the artist(s) responsibility to install and un-install the show with the guidance of staff.
  • It is the artist(s) choice to host a reception. If the artist chooses to have a reception, they will work with staff on an acceptable date and time. It is the artist(s) responsibility to work with staff to plan the reception.

These are preliminary guidelines for the proposal. Selected artists will receive the gallery and exhibition guidelines.
